 Negative Rep
Negative rep from one too many raids needs to have a lower impact, or there needs to be less of cliff to fall off of.
As your attacking up and gaining 1 rep a hit for someone that is moving there way down the charts, once you pass them you get crushed with a huge loss of rep like -63 or sometimes even greater.
I think it should go down as much as it would go up. Otherwise you have to constantly monitor your ranks as you attack.
So if you pass your target on the charts you should lose just as much as they would gain from attaking you on that level.
Or if you attack someone more than 20 times in 24 hours then you get an even steeper loss, but not something in the high double digits.

it would be nice if there was a minimum loss of -2 until you get one attack away from passing them on the rank chart then have it go down to -1.
-1 being the signal that you are one more attack away

There actually is. If you attack a lower ranked person 1 time, you lose 1% of your REP. Repeated attacks increase this penalty to 5% (where you lose like 60 REP for the attack). The problem is that you attack someone 9 times and bring their rank down, and then the 10th attack puts them lower than you and you get hit for the full 5%. It's definitely a problem, and there's also a bug currently associated with the ranks so that if you hit someone who is very close to the blue line, sometimes your attack will push them from green to blue and you'll take a rep loss even though you shouldn't.
We're working on it, but any suggestions you have are definitely appreciated. I would love to not have to check the rank page after each raid.

From earlier games there were multiple times where I attacked someone multiple times and had the +1 for me -1 for them message and then that was followed up with -100 rep... since then I simply update the rank list after every attack... I agree that is a drag.
Maybe a flashing red light when your next attack will give you negative rep?

lol, go out and buy a flashing red light and put it on your monitor notrich. Then just right a code that checks the rep every time and flashes the light and the fire alarm when you have a problem. That's the way to do it
In other news, it'd be nice to have a very simple message just displayed at the top of the screen. I don't want to have to interface with something stupid like a flashing red light or something other. Just have a message displayed at the top that says something easily parsed out ^_^ examples include:
\"WARNING: Last attack knocked the character out of honorable rep zone.\"
etc.

You decimated your opponent! You killed 196 Apprentices, 117 Journeymen and 58 Guildsmen. You were able to find 170996673 gold, 0 crystals, 4094 Iron Armor, 7728 Steel Armor, 26701 Mithril Armor, 7927 Iron Weapons, 14630 Steel Weapons and 49811 Mithril Weapons.
Your reputation has changed by -102, your targets reputation has changed by 1.
ps - i love how the test characters have outrageous leads in intelligence and other catagories... of course I don't mean love - i mean the opposite.

Yeah, only the one bot character had that, cause we were testing the training and recruiting over and over. The other bots won't have near that much, unless they actually spent the turns to get it.

so the test character gets the titles? did it get its records during the time that we were allowed to attack or did it get most of it during protected time?

 Re: Negative Rep
Ouch, just ran into this one. Happily raiding the opponent (payback is fun! ) at +1 rep and then suddenly hit -60 rep. Maybe this could be helped by resetting the rep penalty to -1 after a period of time (hours/days?) and only bring it up to % points if you keep attacking after this (warning) rep penalty.
