Question - magic turns do not allow production?

Post Question - magic turns do not allow production?
I have cast summon gargs on myself number of times... i lose 20 turns but I do not get 20 turns of production (money or crystals)

Is this normal?

Yes, spells and military attacks do not grant normal production like training and market activities do.
